Assistant Professor of Entomology 45% Research, 40% Extension, 15% Teaching The faculty member will be expected to develop a nationally recognized program in ecology and management of insect pests in controlled environments. Research and outreach programs will be oriented to greenhouses, interiorscapes, conservatories and other enclosed systems with focus on the greenhouse floriculture and vegetable industry. Through outreach activities, the faculty member will be expected to provide leadership and information to allied industries in Ohio as well as national and international networks of producers and scientists. An area of research expertise that compliments the commodity responsibility and departmental research and teaching programs will be . The teaching program would be expected to include both formal coursework and mentoring graduate students. A research program that balances the need for immediate and long-term solutions to pest problems will be required. The faculty member will be expected to play a key role in the Ohio State University Extension Floriculture Team and other interdisciplinary programs. A strong publication record and extramural support of research will be expected. Minimum qualifications, experience, skills and abilities:
