William F. Lyon

Duties and responsibilities involve the biology and control of household and structural pests, livestock, poultry, and pet pests, mosquitoes and 4-H Entomology. Interdisciplinary applied research involves cattle horn fly control by use of non-insecticide mechanical walk-through fly traps and ear tags. Cooperative field research work is being conducted with private industry on a new termite bait Insect Growth Regulator, hexaflumuron. Most time is spent training and working closely with Ohio County Extension Agents and Pest Control Operators. Taxonomic work is provided on request to the Plant & Pest Diagnostic Clinic (PPDC). Hobbies include genealogy, coin, stamp, insect and weed collecting.
