Stephanidae from Central America & Antilles
The Antillean fauna of Stephanidae is a big problem, and I might consider publishing them separately. Stephanids
from this area are weird intermediates between the North American and the South American
fauna. There are very few specimens available for study, and I will have to find many more to be
able to publish something about them. The following is a list of the species I have recognized for
that both areas.
- Megischus acutus
- M. niger
- M. compressus sp. n.
- M. brunneus (3 morphs; 1 from Republica Dominicana, 2 from Cuba)
- M. bicolor
- M. texanus ssp. n.?
- Hemistephanus erythrocephallus
- Hemistephanus sp. n.
- Foenatopus annulipes
HOW YOU CAN HELP
