Stephanidae of the World
The distribution of the Stephanidae has not yet been comparatively discussed, although some
degree of endemism for the different genera does seem to occur. Only the genus Megischus
has a widespread distribution, while all other genera seem to be more or less restricted to
certain parts of the world (e.g. Hemistephanus in South America,
Parastephanellus in the Indo-Australian region, etc.)
Regions where the family Stephanidae does not occur
- Chile
- New Zealand
- North and South Pole
