Abstract. -- A new species of Thoronidea, T. cerradensis, is described from the central
Brazilian state of Goias. This species id closely associated with stream habitats in cerrado
(savanna) vegetation and probably parasitizes the eggs of aquatic Heteroptera. Males of the genus
are described for the first time. The male antennae of T. cerradensis are 11-merous and A4 is
grotesquely exaggerated. The original generic diagnosis is modified to accommodate this new species.
